During the 2013/14 season, Cristiano Ronaldo put on one of the most dominant performances in Champions League history. He scored an incredible 17 goals in just 11 appearances, breaking the previous record of 14 goals set by Lionel Messi in the 2011/12 season.

Messi has come close to matching Ronaldo’s record, scoring 13 goals in the 2014/15 season and 12 goals in the 2016/17 season. However, he has yet to reach the same level of dominance that Ronaldo displayed in the 2013/14 season.

While Messi is undoubtedly one of the greatest footballers of all time, these two records show just how impressive Ronaldo’s achievements have been. The fact that he holds these records over a player as talented as Messi is a testament to his skill and consistency over the years.
