Any concerns that the Premier League title race would become a formality have already been put to bed. Manchester City took control after both Liverpool and Arsenal were beaten this month. But their FA Cup commitments have presented an opportunity to both of their rivals to put the pressure on again.

Arsenal went back to the summit with their hard-fought win over Wolves on Saturday. And Liverpool made their response by overcoming Fulham at Craven Cottage the following day.

Tottenham, of course, have a big role to play in the title race. Ange Postecoglou’s side have to play all three of the title chasers before the campaign concludes.

So it was interesting that Yves Bissouma was asked by Sky Sports to predict who will now win the title. Perhaps unsurpsingly, the Spurs star did not opt for the Gunners.

“City, that’s what I think. They’ve got experience, they know how in the last games. So my prediction is them,” he said.

Manchester City does look to be the safe choice. Ultimately, it will be Pep Guardiola’s men who will definitely clinch the title should they win all of their remaining games.

And, as Bissouma notes, City do have that experience of getting across the line. The Cityzens could become the first team to win four league titles in a row in England.

Arsenal and Liverpool have faltered more recently. The Gunners looked weary as they were knocked out of the Champions League. Meanwhile, the Reds have surprised many with how quickly they have returned to the title picture.

Manchester City usually turn into a machine at this stage of the campaign. And that will also give them a psychological edge, particularly as both Arsenal and Liverpool have had experience of missing out to that machine in a title race..<<CONTINUE READING>>
