Addressing a Press Conference in Abuja, Femi Osabinu, the Leader of the Coalition which is made up of Middle Belt Network for Atiku, North for Atiku Support Group, Turaki Arewa Vanguard and South-West Development Frontiers appealed to the Adamawa State-born Politician to give second thoughts to his desire contest for the office of the President in 2023. They also urged Atiku to sit back and play the role of an Elder Statesman.
Two Things The Loyalists of Atiku Abubakar Asked Him To Do Rather Than Contesting For President In 2023
1. He was urged to support a Younger Candidate
It’s no longer a news that Atiku ‘ll be 77years-old by 2023. Therefore, His Supporters urged him not to contest for the Top Position but rather support a Younger Candidate. The Groups noted that Nigeria is in need of an Energetic Leader who will be able to handle National Challenges.
Although Atiku is yet to indicate interest in contesting for Presidency but his Supporters stated that it will be unfair to support his quest if he declares.
2. They Asked Him To Support Someone From The South-East
It’s no longer a news that the South-East is yet to produce a President since the return to Democratic Rule in 1999. However, His Supporters argued that permutation may not favour Atiku as the Incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari would have been in office for 8years by 2023.
Therefore, they urged Atiku Abubakar to support someone from the South-East Region for the sake of Equity, Justice and Fairness.
