The Red Devils are looking to trim their squad to raise funds for their targets. Financial Fair Play restrictions mean Erik ten Hag is currently only working with a budget of £120million, hence why they aren’t willing to meet Chelsea’s £65m valuation of Mason Mount.

And with a midfielder, a striker and a goalkeeper on the wishlist, there will more than likely need to be outgoings before there’s incomings. The Daily Mail have claimed United are therefore open to big name departures.

There’s double digits of players who could leave Old Trafford, although not all of them will do so. Seven have been transfer listed, with Donny van de Beek, Fred and Anthony Elanga all priced at £20m.

Hannibal Mejbri, who spent last season on loan at Birmingham City, is valued at £13m, while Alex Telles has a £10m price tag. Brandon Williams (£5m) and Eric Bailly (£2m) round off the for sale section.

United will listen to offers for the trio of Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and Dean Henderson, who have all found first-team opportunities hard to come by under Ten Hag. They want £40m each for Maguire and McTominay and £20m for Henderson.

Then Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial could go if the right offer is received. Sancho cost £73m two years ago but United would be happy with a £45m fee, which was said to be of interest to Tottenham earlier this month.

Martial, meanwhile, has just a year left before he becomes a free agent. Despite that, offers will need to be in the region of £25m to secure his services.

It’s hoped the sale will raise at least £50m and possibly even up to £100m to re-invest over the coming months. So far only Zidane Iqbal, who is heading to Utrecht for £850k, has been sold.

As for potential signings, Ten Hag is keen on a reunion with £40m-rated former Ajax star Andre Onana to replace David de Gea, whose contract is expiring on June 30. Alternative midfield options are being explored after the £55m offer for Mount was left on the table.

Their pursuit of a forward, however, is said to have hit a stumbling block due to the high sums required to sign either Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen or Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.
