Arjen Robben was spotted in the Manchester City dressing room delivering a message of encouragement to the team following their 5-1 triumph over Wolves.

Erling Haaland netted four goals and Julian Alvarez added another, bringing City within one point of Premier League leaders Arsenal. This marked their sixth consecutive top-flight victory, during which they’ve scored an impressive 24 goals, keeping their hopes alive for a fourth consecutive title.

According to the Daily Mail, several football legends were present at the match. David Silva was among them, with the City legend making his first return to the Etihad since leaving in July 2020.

Silva wasn’t the only notable figure in attendance though. Robben, who played under Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, was also in the City dressing room following their impressive win.

Having secured a ticket to watch City play, he was invited to meet the squad after the final whistle.

Robben, known for sharing humorous anecdotes about Guardiola’s tendency to call him at all hours to discuss work, congratulated City on their victory over Wolves and urged them to keep up the pressure on Arsenal. In addition to Bayern, Robben has represented Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSV and Groningen throughout his career.

During his visit to the UK this weekend, Dutch football icon Arjen Robben wasn’t just spotted at the Etihad. Social media was abuzz with images of the former winger at Anfield, where he joined ex-Bayern Munich colleague Thiago Alcantara in the players’ area, witnessing Liverpool’s 4-2 triumph over Tottenham.

Manchester City, on their quest for a fourth consecutive Premier League title, need three wins out of three to be sure of the trophy. Pep Guardiola, reflecting on the victory against Wolves and looking ahead to the title race, commented: “The biggest importance is just two weeks left. Three games. Nine points we will be champions.

“[If we earn only] seven points, six points, three points, Arsenal will win the Premier League. Goal difference is not possible, we cannot draw. The way Arsenal have been playing has been so good and consistent.
