Chelsea and Chicago Fire have reached an agreement on a 15 million euro transfer fee for American goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.

Slonina was initially a target for the Blues throughout the summer, but they appeared to lose out as Real Madrid joined the picture.

However, Real Madrid had at least one offer turned down by Major League Soccer team Chicago Fire, and Chelsea are now close to a £13 million transfer.

According to ESPN, Chelsea and the 18-year-old, who has made 33 appearances for Chicago Fire since making the first squad in 2021, have verbally agreed to a contract.

According to rumors, Slonina is currently traveling to west London for his medical and sign a long-term contract with Chelsea.

The race to get Frenkie de Jong for Manchester United is nearing its conclusion; the Red Devils are apparently planning their last bid for the Barcelona midfielder.

The Frenkie de Jong story will soon come to an end, according to a report in the Spanish daily SPORT, as Manchester United prepares their final offer for the Barcelona midfielder. If the most recent proposal is unsuccessful, the Red Devils will look at other options.

One of the major stories of the summer transfer season thus far has been the Frenkie de Jong transfer controversy. While the two parties negotiate about deferred wages, Barcelona has used the Dutch midfielder as a scapegoat to reduce the wage bill and register the new additions. In the meantime, an agreement for de Jong has been reached between Manchester United and the Blaugrana.
