Aston Villa vs Southampton
Aston Villa will visit Southampton on Friday night in the Premier League in an effort to build on their stalemate with Manchester City the previous time out.
While Southampton enter this match coming off a 1-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 3, Steven Gerrard’s team overcame the league leaders on the same day. The match has been given the go-ahead, and Villa may be motivated by the same contest between the two clubs from the previous season, which ended in a 4-0 victory for Gerrard’s club.
Aston Villa possible starting XI:

Nottingham Forest vs Fulham
Nottingham Forest will be seeking to avoid a fourth straight loss in the Premier League as they kick off the 2022–23 season at home against fellow promoted team Fulham on Friday night. The Reds, who are presently ranked 19th, just suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Bournemouth, while Fulham, who are currently ranked 10th, just suffered a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Forest, who have four points and are currently ranked 19th in the standings, will have to adjust quickly if they want to remain in the Premier League.
However, the Cottagers have had a promising start to the 2022–23 campaign, and Forest fell to them 4-0 in the corresponding matchup the year before.
