Aston Villa vs Southampton

Aston Villa will visit Southampton on Friday night in the Premier League in an effort to build on their stalemate with Manchester City the previous time out.

While Southampton enter this match coming off a 1-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 3, Steven Gerrard’s team overcame the league leaders on the same day. The match has been given the go-ahead, and Villa may be motivated by the same contest between the two clubs from the previous season, which ended in a 4-0 victory for Gerrard’s club.
