Saka has been a standout performer for the Gunners this season, carrying the team’s title challenge on multiple occasions.
However, Wright believes that Saka is suffering from the effects of Arsenal’s long and grueling campaign, which included a mid-season World Cup.
The winger has scored just one goal in his last six appearances and appears to be fatigued.
With Arsenal needing to win all of their remaining matches to stand a chance of winning the title, Wright believes that Arteta should consider resting Saka, despite the team’s reliance on him.
‘Maybe Saka should get a little bit of a rest,’ said Wright.
‘I think a little rest. Maybe my mouth is going to quickly for my brain, in this situation we can’t afford to lose anymore games.
Arsenal face a tough test away to Newcastle on Sunday and cannot afford anything but a win. Meanwhile, Manchester City take on Leeds at the Etihad 24 hours earlier, with the opportunity to extend their lead at the top.
