Benjamin joined the Bavarians from fellow Bundesliga club Stuttgart in the summer of 2019, a year after he had won the World Cup with France. Pavard has since been a permanent fixture on the right side of Die Roten’s back-line, chalking up 119 games in which he has chipped in with five goals and 11 assists.
France international has won three Bundesliga titles along with the UCL trophy during his time at Bayern Munich. However, with the Bundesliga giants signing Noussair Mazraoui this summer from Ajax, the French defender’s spot in the side is under threat, and separation of ways could be on the cards.
Several top teams around Europe are monitoring the Frenchman’s situation, with the Blues among the interested sides. The Blues are overseeing a massive defensive overhaul this summer. Having lost Rudiger and Christensen as free agents, Chelsea are expected to add at least two new centre-backs.
With Alonso also on his way out, a left-back is also likely to arrive, while a new right-back could also be on the cards. The former Stuttgart defender has two years left on his deal with the German club, and the Bavarians could demand a significant fee for his services.
