Rival Fans have always made claims that Stamford bridge belongs to Fulham Fc without genuine facts to back their claims but the fact is, Chelsea Fc owns the stadium and it’s secured the ownership through, Gus Mears(the founding father of Chelsea fc). Before Chelsea became a name in early 1905, Stamford bridge was already in existence and it was a stadium that was used for different ceremonial and sporting events. The stadium was officially opened in 1877 and it was initially used by London Athletic Club until 1904. The reason why Fulham Fc is in the picture is because of the offer they were given to own the stadium but they turned it down, however, the closeness between Chelsea and Fulham made many people think the latter has a share or possesses the ownership of the stadium. Fulham would have owned the stadium but they refused to move into the stadium because the 5000 capacity stand in the stadium was designed in form of Stevenage Road Stand at Craven Cottage(Fulham’s present Stadium). The Stevenage Road Stand was built in honor of Fulham’s legend, Johnny Haynes. Without much ado, Chelsea Fans need to get this straight and stand up to tell anyone that The Bridge belongs to Chelsea and not Fulham.
