With the winner of this tie facing either the Netherlands or the United States in the last eight, Argentina’s chances of reaching the semi-finals are looking good. Even if they aren’t quite firing on all cylinders, they are heavily favored to win this match.

Australia has won their last two matches, so this will not be easy. France did put four past them in the group stages, but they have tightened up significantly since then.

Argentina has only lost one of their last 39 international matches. They hadn’t lost in 36 games before facing Saudi Arabia in their first World Cup match. They lost that game 2-1 but still finished first in the group.
