Portugal and Switzerland have faced off on a whopping 25 separate occasions in international football.
And it is the Swiss who have the edge, having won 11 of those clashes to Portugal’s nine, with five ending in draws.
The two nations have been drawn together in World Cup qualifying four times but have faced off in the finals only once — when Switzerland claimed a 2-1 victory in the group stages of the 1938 edition of the tournament.
They also came out on top in the sides’ most recent clash, earning a 1-0 win in the Nations League in Geneva in June.
