According to Daily Post, the lower court had claimed that the governor was not a member of the party he was elected under, but the Supreme Court’s decision confirmed that he was duly elected.
Governor Yusuf expressed his satisfaction with the verdict, stating that the issues surrounding his victory have finally been resolved. He emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision confirmed the legality of his election.
According to him, he said: “They were saying illegal ballot papers; INEC had confirmed that the ballot papers belonged to them; they were issued by them and the Supreme Court justices have just confirmed that there was no illegality and the people are aware.
