Karim scored the second goal for Real Madrid on the night to cement their hopes of lifting the Super Cup, and in so doing broke the record as he beat Raul who previously held the record.

However, Benzema is still miles away from equalling Cristiano Ronaldo and may never do so as he is in his 30s and has over 100 goals to score before he can reach that.
