This move comes as Chelsea looks to bolster its midfield and take advantage of Barcelona’s financial situation, which requires the La Liga club to sell before they can buy.
Chelsea is said to be highly interested in signing Kessie, who has been a key player for Barcelona in recent seasons. And with the departure of Memphis Depay to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona manager Xavi is said to be looking for a player in the mould of Ziyech to alleviate the space left by the Dutch attacker.
However, it’s important to note that despite Chelsea’s willingness to offer Ziyech as part of the deal, Barcelona is not currently considering the option of a swap deal and would rather favour a loan agreement or separate deals due to their financial regulations.
Additionally, Ziyech has received offers from other clubs, whereas Kessie himself has shown no desire to leave Camp Nou in the middle of the season.
