Nicolas Pepe has played just 652 Premier League minutes this season and 151 (with no starts) since he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations a transformed player, according to Mikel Arteta.

It is clear his time at Arsenal is over and, if we’re honest, it probably would have been over a lot sooner had Arsenal not spent over £70m on him.

Pepe has two years left to run on the deal he signed when he arrived in 2019 from Lille, but Arsenal will reportedly take around £25m for him.

Step forward Sevilla, who have identified the Ivorian as a player they would like in their squad next season.

As long as the fee is ‘not exorbitant’, that is.

Currently valued at around £27m, the most Sevilla have ever paid for a player is £22.5m so to meet Arsenal’s valuation of £25m, they, too, would need to break their transfer record to sign Nicolas Pepe.
