Man Utd Are Reportedly Very Close To Reaching An Agreement For Frenkie De Jong’s Transfer Following Erik Ten Hag’s Talks With The Midfielder.

The Premier League giants are in direct negotiations with Barcelona, as they look to finalise their first signing of the summer transfer window ahead of pre-season.

Barca have made De Jong available in the market due to their well-documented financial obstacles at Camp Nou, and are open to part ways with the Netherlands international for around €80m.

However, despite both clubs’ willingness to do the deal, the 25-year-old will have the final say on a potential switch this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Sport (via SportWitness), De Jong ‘could pack his bags’ as Barcelona and United are very close to finding an agreement.

Ten Hag, who managed De Jong at Ajax before he moved to Spain, is ‘convinced of being able to convince’ his former player to be an important part of his rebuild at Old Trafford.

The Dutch midfielder’s reluctance to join a club without Champions League football is an issue, but United haven’t given up.

Further, the opportunity to play under Ten Hag – who got the best out of him – might be too good to turn down for De Jong. He was deployed as a defensive midfielder by Louis van Gaal against Belgium, and after the match he suggested his role for Netherlands suits him more than his current one under Xavi.

The Senegalese central defender is one of the great desires of Barca team and it seems that it would not be so difficult to see him dressed as a culé next year given that the player has taken a huge step towards the Camp Nou.

As explained by the Italian media ‘CalcioNapoli24‘, Koulibaly have met with the Napoli presidency to discuss the details of his new contract extension and has ended up explaining his desire to leave the club, but not only that, but his intention is to play for the Barcelona team next year.

The aforementioned media assures that the player would have already notified his decision to both the coach, Luciano Spalletti, and the Partenopeo president himself, Aurelio De Laurentiis, so he is waiting for offers to arrive and sit down to listen to them.

As we say, kalidou koulibaly is one of Xavi Hernández’s great desires to improve FC Barcelona next year, but it seems that the club will not be able to make a formal proposal until 10 days from now, more or less, given that they have to meet to decide the budget for new additions in the coming days. Until the club balances its accounts, it will not be possible to know if they are going to be able to go for this imposing player, what is clear is that Napoli are not going to give him away either.
