The Punch notes that this is an agreement that was reached between the federal government of Nigeria and the organized labour earlier this month.
The minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu said that about 61 million Nigerians will benefit from the scheme.
According to a report by the Punch, she said that “15 million households will be receiving 75,000 Naira over three months. This equates to about 61 million Nigerians directly benefitting from the conditional cash transfer”.
This means that the beneficiaries will receive 25,000 Naira for the months of October, November and December. This will result in a total of 75,000 Naira over the period of three months.
