Who could possibly catch Mohamed Salah? With just one week left in the competition, the star forward for Liverpool has scored 22 goals so far this season.

The race comes down to Son Heung-min (21 goals), who is just one goal behind, with one match left to play, and the two stars are in the spotlight.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo (18 goals) was making a strong push in the closing stages of the competition, it seems like he will fall short with only one match remaining. Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, both of whom play for Liverpool and are also behind Salah in the goal scoring race, both have 15.

It should come as no surprise that six players from Manchester City are on the list of players who have scored seven or more goals, with Kevin De Bruyne leading the way for his side (15 goals).

A strong finish to the season saw Harry Kane (2020-21) and Jamie Vardy (2019-20) climb up the rankings to take second and third place, respectively, in scoring.

Let’s go back to the meat and potatoes of the conversation for a while, shall we? Who is the most likely candidate to end the season as the leading scorer in the English Premier League? There are presently just two players that have a shot of leading the league in scoring, and those players are Mohammed Salah of Egypt and Son Hueng-min of Tottenham Hotspur.

When their next games are taken into consideration, it is extremely likely that Son Hueng-min will surpass Mohamed Salah in the overall amount of goals scored.

The game that Liverpool is playing is against Wolverhampton, while the game that Tottenham Hotspur is playing is against Norwich.

Taking into account both of these games, it is highly possible that Son will score further goals, maybe even a hat trick given that Norwich City have been allowing a lot of goals.

Because Wolverhampton tends to play a defensive style of game, it is extremely possible that Salah will not even score a single goal while he is playing for them.

It is quite plausible, and perhaps possible, that the star player for Tottenham Hotspur, Son Hueng-min, will end up with the most goals scored. You are also welcome to share your thoughts in the comments area, so don’t be shy about doing so. Is it really Mohammed Salah, or could it be Son Hueng-min?
