2. La Liga:
Samuel Eto’o started his career at Real Madrid where he managed only a few appearances and never scored a league goal. He scored most of his La Liga goals for Barcelona (108) where he spent five seasons.
He also scored some La Liga goals during his time at Mallorca and Leganes. Altogether, he has scored 162 La Liga goals.
3. Serie A:
1995 ballon d’Or winner George Weah scored a total of 46 league goals during his time at AC Milan. No other African player has scored more goals in Serie A history.
4. Bundesliga:
While playing for Borussia Dortmund, Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored 98 goals. It might take a very long time before an African player breaks this record.
5. Ligue 1:
Senegal’s Mamadou Niang played for four different clubs in the course of his career in France and scored 100 Ligue 1 goals. The four clubs were Strasbourg, Marseille, Metz and Troyes.
