The Henley Passport Index is a widely recognized measure of the strength of passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without prior visa arrangements.

According to the 2022 Henley Passport Index, there are several countries whose citizens hold passports that provide very little travel freedom, and some of these countries are:

Afghanistan:

Afghanistan has consistently ranked as the country with the least powerful passport in the world for many years. Afghan citizens can only access 26 destinations visa-free or with a visa on arrival.

Iraq:

Iraq is another country with a weak passport, allowing its citizens to travel to only 28 countries without a prior visa.

Syria:

With ongoing conflicts and political instability, Syria’s passport ranks as one of the least powerful in the world, allowing visa-free access to only 29 destinations.

Pakistani passport ranks 7th on the list of weakest passports, offering visa-free access to only 39 destinations.

Eritrea:

Eritrea’s passport allows visa-free access to only 40 destinations.

Libya:

The Libyan passport allows visa-free access to only 42 destinations.

Nepal:

Nepal’s passport ranks 9th on the list of weakest passports, providing visa-free access to only 43 destinations.

The Bangladeshi passport ranks 10th on the list of weakest passports, allowing visa-free access to only 45 destinations.
