Few fans expected the Reds to try for an unprecedented quadruple last summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, on the other hand, has the potential to make European football history.

The Carabao Cup and the FA Cup have already been won by Liverpool, both on penalties against Chelsea at Wembley.

The Premier League and the Champions League, on the other hand, are the two trophies that every Kopite wishes to see their team win.

The Reds are only one point behind Manchester City coming into the last day of the season on Sunday, after slipping 14 points adrift at one stage.

Liverpool will face Wolves, while Manchester City will face Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa.

As if that weren’t enough, Klopp’s side will face Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris on May 28. They’re one victory away from claiming their sixth European Cup.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is experiencing some fitness issues, and Klopp will need all of his players available.

Here’s the latest information on the issue.

Liverpool’s leading scorer, Mo Salah, was replaced in the 33rd minute of last Saturday’s FA Cup final against Chelsea by Diogo Jota.

Return game possibility

Sunday, May 22nd, Wolves (H).

Van Dijk, Virgil

The centre-back did not return for extra time in the FA Cup final due to a knee injury.

For the final 30 minutes of action, Joel Matip took his spot.

Klopp never contemplated starting van Dijk against Southampton because of his condition.

Liverpool, like Salah, believes the Dutchman will be fit for the Champions League final – and possibly Wolves as well.

“He really played a lot,” Klopp added, “and then with Saturday-Tuesday, it was evident [he would sit out anyhow].”

“They’re both OK.” The goal for both of them would be to be involved again at the weekend.

Fabinho

The midfielder limped out of Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa last week with a hamstring issue.

He was unable to attend the FA Cup final or Southampton’s victory.

Klopp has been convinced that Fabinho will be fit for the Champions League final since his injury.

The Brazil international is also going well.

Klopp stated before Southampton: “[He’s] going very well, but he won’t be involved tomorrow – but he’s doing very well.”

Real Madrid will play in the Champions League final on May 28.

Gomez, Joe

The defender was forced off at halftime against Southampton.

Just before halftime, Gomez suffered an ankle injury and was replaced by Jordan Henderson.

Klopp hoped Gomez’s injury wasn’t too serious, even though he was in pain at the end of the game.

“I hope we were fortunate,” Klopp stated. Joe is in discomfort, but not too so.

“He took a big hit — about a foot and a half higher.

However, he was in a nice mood when I spoke with him in the dressing room.

“I believe we were fortunate, but we need to find that out.”

Gomez is said to have left St Mary’s wearing a protective boot, but Liverpool is hopeful that a scan will reveal if he will be ready to play in the Champions League final.

Real Madrid will play in the Champions League final on May 28.
