And they leapfrog back over Liverpool before the Anfield club host Sheffield United on Thursday – and stay a point ahead of City – by extending their unbeaten streak in the Premier League this year to 10 matches.
Arsenal travel to Brighton on Saturday before hosting Harry Kane ’s Bayern Munich on Tuesday. And Leandro Trossard said: “Everyone showed they can play and make it hard for the manager. I think he is happy with the performance of all the players so it couldn’t be better.
“There were five changes in this game and everyone did their job and that is what we need in the team – competition.

“Confidence levels are really high. Hopefully we can maintain this and we have to take it game by game because we are playing every three days but it is a nice win here and we can look forward to the weekend. It is really good in the team at the moment and we need to maintain that and keep going.”
