Reutershad earlier reported that the drone attack directed from Ukraine had injured around a dozen people.  According to RIA Novosti, the injured were students of Alabuga Polytechnic.

Media reports from the West alleged that hundreds of students from the polytechnic were being used to assemble Russian Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

“️Citizens of nine countries were injured as a result of yesterday’s drone attack on the Alabuga Polytechnic dormitory in Tatarstan, the press service of the Head of the Republic told RIA Novosti,” the Russian State agency reported.

“Among the victims (14 in total) are citizens of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Sudan.”

It was reported that six people had sustained serious injuries and remained in hospital. The Alabuga Polytechnic is situated deep in Russia, over 1,250 kilometres from Ukraine.

Kenya continues to be drawn into the Russian-Ukraine conflict with Russia in March alleging that Kenyan mercenaries were fighting for Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Defence on Thursday, March 14, alleged that five Kenyans had been identified as working with Ukrainian armed forces.

This was later refuted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterating that Kenya is guided by the foreign policy of non-interference in the affairs of other states.
