The directive, issued by the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Wemi Jones, is in anticipation of the November 11 governorship election. Schools will resume regular academic activities on Wednesday, November 15.

In a statement, Commissioner Jones emphasized that the holiday was declared to ensure a peaceful election and create a conducive environment for the electoral process.

He wished for a smooth and secure election while assuring the public of the government’s commitment to organizing a free, fair, and credible electoral exercise in the state.
