Barcelona and Real Madrid booked a spot in the El-Clasico final after beating Real Betis and Valencia respectively with their semi-final ties ending in penalty shoot-out.

Barcelona were then able to get their full form back on track against their perennial rival and as such outclassed them with a convincing victory that made them the Spanish Super Cup Champion in their record 25th final.

First half goals from Gavira Pablo and Robert Lewandowski gave the Catalan giant a two nil lead going into the half time break before Pedri Gonzalez got the lead extended in the second half to make it three nil, after which the Los Blancos got a consolation goal from Karim Benzema which ended the game three goals to one at full time.

After the game, FIFA reacted with a post made via their verified Twitter handle with the caption indicating that FC Barcelona’s Clasico result ended in lifting a trophy.

They will then be hoping to replicate the same tempo in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the current campaign.
