He found him hanging on a tree and after touching his hand, he automatically knew that he was no more, making that moment the most darkest part of his life. He said he was a very responsible father and disciplinarian since he was raised by his father who introduced him to alcohol, and he didn’t want his kids to grow like him.
Above all, he was a military officer and his standards were very high, making sure he gave his three sons the best life ever. The sons were doing well in school and home, but the second born who committed suicide was well known with conflicts.
When he was in class three, he knew he was different and at the time they were living at Moi Forces Military Camp. The son was very stubborn even to him at a young age, but to him, it became very hard to raise him.
In grade four, he withdrew from the family and he stopped talking to everyone, which forced him to take him to a psychiatrist. He opened up, saying the parents loved others more than him and they were beating him and not others.
The father gave up on him and he never punished him again, and he wanted to be a friendly father. He left him to the mother who had more hopes in him.
When he reached form four and they were sitting in the house, he said the family doesn’t love him, which raised more concerns after he repeated the same thing while in second year, shedding tears that time.
When he was in third year, he said they don’t love him and he wishes he would die rather than living in such a family. Toward his death, the father became very concerned because he would stay in his room for more than three or four days and he greeted no one.
During the fateful day, 31st January, he asked if he could cook for them, which they agreed to, and he cooked and never ate. He said he was okay, washed the dishes, and went out to sleep.
After some minutes, he came back and asked for his father’s phone where he copied all his contacts and he signed out from his Google account and left. He comes back again, takes water, tells them goodnight, and he was gone.
Around 10:30, the father wanted to go to sleep and he saw the keys to his room, and he asked the mother how come the keys were there and he had gone to sleep to that room.
Instincts told him everything was wrong, and he goes out with a panga to know what he was doing. He found him under the tree appearing like he was standing, making a call, and he waited for like three minutes but there was no movement.
When he walked close to him, he realized he had hanged himself and he was already cold, and he appeared to have died peacefully, and the mother could not believe it.
He feels like his son was battling something and he was not aware since he was very much busy in his career and looking for money.
The father looked at his email only to find his diary where he had written a lot of painful poems, and he first wanted to kill himself in 2018.
The young man had a girlfriend who he had told everything, and when she told them everything, it really pained him. That was when he realized his son was depressed and he was battling psychological problems.
