Some of the biggest leagues in world football are in Europe and it is the dream of every player to play in any of those leagues at least once in their careers. However, some players have achieved this monumental task at a surprisingly young age.
Most football players make their first team debuts in Europe top leagues at the age of 17 or 18 but in the past few years, some young players have challenged the status quo by making their debuts in Europe’s top leagues much earlier.
On this note, we would be taking a look at the youngest players of all time in each of Europe’s top six leagues, which are the English Premier League, the Spanish La Liga, the Italian Serie A, the German Bundesliga, the French Ligue 1, and the Liga Portugal:
1. English Premier League
Arsenal youngster, Ethan Nwaneri, made history when he was named on the bench in Arsenal’s game against Brentford and eventually came on as a substitute.
He became the youngest player to ever play in the English Premier League and the youngest player to ever debut in all of Europe’s top six leagues. Ethan Nwaneri was 15 years 5 months and 28 days old when he made his debut.
2. Spanish La Liga – Luka Romero
Luka Romero made his debut for Mallorca in 2020 at the age of 15 years 7 months and 6 days.
3. Italian Serie A – Wisdom Ameh
Wisdom Ameh made his debut for Bologna in 2021 when he was just 15 years 9 months and a day old.
4. German Bundesliga – Youssofa Moukoko
Moukoko made his debut for Borussia Dortmund in 2020 a day after his 16th birthday.
5. French Ligue 1 – Kalman Gerencseri (RC Lens in 1960 at the age of 15 years 7 months and 12 days)
6. Liga Portugal – Roger Fernandes (SC Braga in 2021 at the age of 15 years 8 months and 23 days)
