Both men were clearly furious and had to be pulled apart, as Arteta walked away from the scene shaking his head.
The build-up to the match was dominated by a war of words between the two bosses over their respective approaches to the first leg.
Arteta accused Porto of using a low block with ‘no intention of playing’ and Conceicao hit back by saying: “It’s an opinion. They wanted to play, we wanted to win.”
Those comments were put to Arteta on the eve of the second leg and the Arsenal manager said: “There is no interpretation, those are strong words.”
