Arsenal will get the chance to sign Juventus attacker Moise Kean this month....CONTINUE READING

Arsenal are desperate to bolster their attacking contingent in the current January transfer window. Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed that signing a striker is a priority for the north London club this month.

It is easy to see why Mikel Arteta is eager to boost the firepower in his squad. Both Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have struggled to score consistently so far this season. The Brazilian only has 3 Premier League strikes to his name, and whilst Nketiah has netted 5 times in the top flight this term, three of those goals came in one match as he bagged a hat-trick against Sheffield United.

The Gunners usually seek to share the goals around, but the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Martin Odegaard, amongst others, have all also been wasteful in recent weeks. This failure to convert chances has been the main cause behind Arsenal’s recent poor form, as they have fallen to defeat in each of their last three matches.

Despite this desire to bring in a new striker, though, resources are a problem for Arteta, as Arsenal’s spending power is extremely limited at this time. Sporting director Edu will currently be on the hunt for potential bargains, or short-term solutions that can be found via the loan market.

Given their need for a new attacker, Arsenal could be considered prime candidates to pick up the 23-year-old Italian. However, Arteta would have good reason to be reluctant to offer Kean a chance to return to the Premier League.

Juventus paid £25 million to sign Kean last summer, fulfilling an obligation after the player had spent the last two seasons on loan with the Serie A giants. Kean has failed to impress since making his move to Turin permanent, though.

What’s more, during his previous spell in the English top flight with Everton, the 15-cap Italy international struggled to make a positive impression.

Kean is certainly talented, but there is little to suggest that the striker would raise the level of Arsenal’s squad. As much as the Gunners need a new forward, they can’t afford to fall into the trap of signing a below-par player for the sake of bringing in an extra body…CONTINUE READING>>
