It was a thrilling match as both teams were matched for each other, Jurgen Klopp’s side were initially getting the better of Chelsea in the first half of the match but Chelsea came back even stronger in the second half of the match.
Down into the second half, Hakim Ziyech came in for Romelu Lukaku who was obviously having a bad game. Hakim Ziyech wasn’t involved in much but he was caught by Liverpool’s defender just in the penalty area but the referee just waved play on. It was a clear foul on Hakim Ziyech and a crucial chance for Chelsea to take the lead from the penalty spot.
Hakim Ziyech was dropped in the penalty area but there was not a VAR review, the Moroccan was actually fouled twice in Liverpool’s penalty area but the referee looked the other way.
Chelsea haven’t been favoured when it comes to times as this, we saw how it went in the Carabao Cup final and in last season’s FA Cup final. It’s clear that Chelsea were robbed off a penalty in extra time.
