Rigathi Gachagua Warns MPs His Impeachment Won’t Be A Walk In The Park: “Si Rahisi”

The embattled DP further stated that Kenya’s laws uphold democracy and respect the will of the people, making it far from easy to remove someone elected by millions.

“It’s not as easy as you think to gather 200 people to remove someone elected by over seven million people. Kenya has laws that respect democracy and the will of the people,” he added.

Gachagua reminded the MPs of the solidarity the Mt. Kenya region showed President William Ruto  during his struggles in the previous regime, despite him not being from the area.

He further warned them to consider how the local community would feel if their own were mistreated.

“The people of Mt. Kenya empathised with Ruto, who faced injustices even though he was not from here. Now, how do you think the community would react if their own were mistreated? I urge the MPs to consult the residents about whether they would accept seeing their own being mistreated and pushed out,” he said.

Moreover, he pointed out that any motion for his removal must come from President Ruto, suggesting that the lack of a response from Ruto could imply his support for the looming ouster.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah confirmed Gachagua’s looming ouster, stating that he had read and signed the motion.

Ichung’wah disapproved of ethnic politics that sought to divide the people of Mt. Kenya. He claimed that Gachagua’s calls for unity in the region have led to the emergence of factions aiming to shift their loyalty away from the Kenya Kwanza coalition and form new alliances with influential figures in Azimio as the 2027 elections approach…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
