He stated that he would accept going home if the faction of Kenya Kwanza MPs seeking his removal succeeded.
“If itβs said I should continue working, I am ready; if itβs said I should go home, I am also ready,” he said.
What message did Gachagua pass to Mt. Kenya?
Gachagua urged the Mt. Kenya region to remain united and not allow anyone to divide them, explaining that disunity would lead to significant challenges.
“My plea to the people of Mt. Kenya is to remain united. I donβt need to lead you; any leader can guide you. However, to thrive and maintain a presence in government for years to come, you must unite,” added Gachagua.
The heartbroken leader argued that the sole reason some Kenya Kwanza MPs are seeking his removal is his persistent calls for unity within the mountain region.
He emphasised that without unity, the region would lose its power, strength, and influence, leading to a halt in both economic and political development.
“If I am removed, it will create a way to divide you, and the people of Mt. Kenya will face serious difficulties because that is what they want and why they want me impeached. I ask you to stay together because they will have succeeded in their plot to divide the region, leaving us without power, strength, or influence. Our politics and development will come to an end. Even if there is another leader, do not allow Mt. Kenya to be divided,” he said.

The deputy president emphasised his desire for the mountain region to come together to achieve social, economic, and political benefits while maintaining a presence in government.
He noted that his commitment to unity is informed by his experiences during the era of the late former president Daniel Moiβ¦CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
