Some of us have various toilet habits which are very bad for our health and may cause serious health detriment. Let delve into some of the bad habits we exhibit in the toilet which may cause serious illnesses
Leaving your toothbrush on the sink
The bathroom is not the cleanest area in home and it is better to not even try to imagine how many bacteria live there. Nobody wants their toothbrushes to be attacked with germs and lots of counters in bathrooms are located close to a toilet, which makes it a risk zone. Germs on your toothbrush can leave you with a painful gum and mouth odor, so place it in a clean container.
Carrying a mobile phone with you in the bathroom
This habit of people carrying their phone with them to the bathroom can make them sick. According to research conducted at Prince of Sonkla University, when you keep your mobile phone in the bathroom counter or cupboard, infectious bacteria stick to it and when you use it, many types of infections can occur.
Even if you do wash your hands, always disinfect your phone or make your bathroom a no-phone zone to avoid this risk.
Not washing hands after using the bathroom
On average, within an hour of usage, around 500,000 bacterial cells can be found per square inch of bathroom surfaces.
Bacteria may be lurking on that door knob and toilet flush. Not washing hands after using the washroom can cause germs and bacteria such as E. coli to stay on the skin. This bacteria can get into your body system when you touch your face, or eat, so make sure you wash your hands regularly.
