Liverpool had already rejected two bids offered by Bayern Munich in the opening weeks of the 2022 summer transfer window before accepting a £34m fee from the Bundesliga Champions for Sadio Mane.

Sadio Mane won the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Carabao Cup and the Emirates FA Cup during his six years stay at Anfield.

Mane scored a total of 120 goals in 269 outings for Liverpool.

His departure comes as a major blow to Liverpool but the Liverpool board will be hoping that Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will help fill the void left by Mane’s absence.

Now, let’s take a look at the winners and losers of Sadio Mane’s Liverpool departure.

Winner: Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah paired alongside Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s attack for 5 years before the Senegal international opted to join Bayern this summer.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane combined brilliantly to score a couple of superb goals for Liverpool over the past years. But with Mane gone, that partnership will gradually fade away.

Roberto Firmino is already a bench player at Liverpool and with Mane’s exit, things will only go from bad to worse.

With Sadio Mane’s departure confirmed, Diogo Jota will now have to fight-off competition from only Luis Diaz for a place in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool starting XI next season.
