The cheeky chap fancied a kip right in front of a US Air Force plane’s wheels on the tarmac at MacDill Air Force Base, just south of Tampa, causing a bit of a hold-up on Monday (April 22).

The massive gator was caught on camera getting a telling-off from staff at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), who had to use a restraining rope to handle the situation.

Later on, the air base gave an update that the scaly intruder had been safely rehomed to the nearby Hillsborough River. The air base joked that the gator was pushed out of its home by Elvis, an even bigger gator known to frequent the area.

In their words: “Our newest toothy Airman has been relocated to a more suitable environment off base. Special thanks to FWC for the assist.”

The video, which was posted on the base’s Facebook page, quickly went viral and saw praise heaped on those involved in the removal mission.

One viewer wrote: “Wow, he’s a lot bigger than he looked in that first picture!!!”

Another said: “I’m feeling a little girl power with these 2 ladies taking care of this beast.” A third queried: “How did he get past security & TSA checkpoints.”

A fourth contributor wasn’t envious, stating: “Hell no You can keep that job.”

According to the FWC, alligator courtship begins in early April and mating season takes place in May or June, so maybe the reptile was having a little time-out in between the action..<<CONTINUE READING>>
