Farouq apologised in writing to the EFCC for missing her scheduled appearance to address inquiries regarding the purported N37.1 billion in money laundering that occurred during her tenure.

The former minister wrote to the anti-graft agency, stating that she is not willing to appear before the commission at this time, according to Commission Spokesman Dele Oyewale, who spoke with Channels Television about this.

He continued by saying that she has been instructed by the EFCC to accept the invitation right away.

Halima Shehu, the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) suspended National Coordinator, has reported to the commission in the interim.

According to reports, she is giving the agency’s interrogators the information they need in the interim.
