Recall that the 2023 general elections were held on Saturday, the 25th of February as Nigerians in various states trooped out to cast their votes for their preferred candidates.

On Wednesday, the 1st of March, 2023, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC), was declared president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after he polled a total of 8,794,726 votes in the election.

A lot of prominent people across and outside the country have been congratulating Bola Tinubu and Shettima on their victory in the election.

Rishi Sunak, the United Kingdom prime minister has also taken to his social media page to congratulate the president-elect.

In a tweet made on his official Twitter page, he congratulated Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the president-elect and assured him that the UK and Nigeria’s relationship remains strong.

Rishi Sunak further stated that he looked forward to working with Bola Tinubu to grow the nations’ security and trade ties.

“Congratulations to @officialABAT on his victory in Nigeria.
