UEFA has fined both Manchester United and Barcelona over breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations....CONTINUE READING

The punishments were announced in a statement from the governing body on Friday.

United will pay a €300,000 fine for “minor break-even deficits” for the financial years from 2019 to 2022.

Barca were, however, handed a €500,000 fine “for wrongly reporting, in the financial year 2022, profits on disposal of intangible assets (other than player transfers), which are not a relevant income under the regulations.”

UEFA introduced FFP in 2009 in a bid to stop clubs from spending more than they earn and risking their long-term financial health as a result.

Last September, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and PSG were all handed stricter financial targets for last season.
