In the two days these games were played across 16 venues, there were 16 standout performers who were awarded the UEFA Player of the Match award for their special contributions in these fixtures, and below we will see some of these players and their teams.

Arijan Ademi was the first to win the award this season, after he helped Dinamo Zagreb beat Chelsea by a 1-0 scoreline in the opening match. Dortmund’s Julian Brandt was the winner in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Copenhagen.

Alexis Saelemaekers claimed the award also, after he helped AC Milan secure a 1-1 draw against Salzburg. Toni Kroos showed his supremacy in the midfield once more, as he controlled the game perfectly in Real Madrid’s 0-3 win in Scotland against Celtic.

In some other games played on Tuesday night, Marian Shved won the Player of the Match award, as his Shakhtar ran out 4-1 winners over RB Leipzig. Kevin De Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe and Alejandro Grimaldo took home this award as Manchester City, Juventus and Benfica won Sevilla, Juventus and Maccabi Haifa, respectively.

On Wednesday, Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus helped Ajax to a comfortable 4-0 win against Rangers of Scotland, as he took home the Player of the Match award in the process.

Sporting CP’s Marcus Edwards, Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski, and Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann won the Player of the Match award as Sporting CP, Napoli, and Atletico Madrid won Frankfurt, Liverpool, and Porto, respectively.

In the other games on Wednesday, we saw Robert Lewandowski continue in his fine form from the start of the season, as he took home the Player of the Match award after his performance against Plzen, where he went home with the match ball after scoring a hat-trick.

Abakar Sylla, Leroy Sane, and Richarlison were the other players who won the Player of the Match award, as Club Brugge, Bayern Munich, and Tottenham Hotspur won over Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan, and Marseille, respectively.
