President Muhammadu Buhari has increased the salary structure of the Nigerian Police Force twice since he came into office in 2015. These are the two times below:

1. The Nigerian Police Force’s salary structure was increased in November 2018.

When members of the Nigerian Police Service Commission visited President Buhari at Aso Rock in November 2018, the president promised to improve the welfare of police officers in the country.

The salaries, allowances, and pensions of policemen were increased then.

2. On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, President Buhari approved a 20% pay increase for police officers.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, announced this after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to Dingyadi, the upward review is a product of the issues raised during the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.
