Barcelona face a late race to sign Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense as Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain attempt to gazump them. Sport reports that there is interest from PSG, United and Chelsea in Roque as they attempt to snatch him from under Barcelona’s nose.
The Catalan giants have a verbal agreement with the Brazilian striker but all three clubs have intimated they are willing to pay more than the €40m (£34m/$44m) fee that Barca have agreed, and have also offered Roque a higher salary.
Milan close in on Pulisic
AC Milan in advanced talks with Chelsea over the signing of forward Christian Pulisic. Milan’s latest offer is understood to fall just shy of Chelsea’s valuation but there is now a cautious optimism a deal can be struck.
Lyon have a €25m offer on the table but Pulisic is thought to favour a move to Milan.
Inter swoop for Frattesi from Sassuolo
Inter Milan have signed midfielder Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo. Frattesi has signed on loan for a fee of around £5.5m with an obligation to buy for £23m plus a further £4.5m in bonuses.
The 23-year-old made his Italy debut last year and has gone on to win six caps, one of those coming as a substitute against England in the UEFA Nations League. His arrival at Inter follows the departure of Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Everton striker Simms in Coventry talks
Everton striker Ellis Simms is in talks with Coventry City over an £8m move. An announcement is expected in the next few days for him to move to the Championship club. Other clubs are interested in the 22-year-old but Coventry are in pole position to sign him…readfull
