Despite the fact that Manchester United and Barcelona have an open contract for the midfielder, Barcelona has asserted that Frenkie de Jong is not for sale.

United and Barca reached an agreement last week for a 65 million euro (£56 million) fee plus add-ons, and that contract is still in effect.

De Jong is a Barca player, though, and we don’t want to trade him unless we have a necessity or desire in doing so, according to Barca president Joan Laporta.

2. Arsenal closing in on another top transfer after Jesus.

Following their acquisition of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, Arsenal is optimistic that a £30 million transfer for Youri Tielemans of Leicester City will be completed.

The whole of the transfer window was devoted to the Gunners’ pursuit of Brazil star Jesus, and last Thursday, their efforts were rewarded when the attacker signed a £45 million contract with the club.

Despite the addition of Fabio Vieira, Arteta will now shift his focus to bolstering other parts of the squad and believes that central midfield is the next area of priority.

Raphinha is still waiting for Barcelona to complete a deal with Leeds United, but 90min knows that he is still hopeful of moving to Camp Nou this week.

This summer, Arsenal and Chelsea both made offers for the Brazilian forward, with Chelsea ultimately agreeing to terms with Leeds.

Since then, Chelsea has been attempting to agree on personal terms, but negotiations have stalled since the player and his agent, Deco, have persisted in trying to arrange a transfer to Barcelona.

Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Criscito are already on board, but Toronto FC’s star-studded summer renovation is destined to continue.

The Reds and former Napoli forward Insigne announced a pre-contract agreement in January. The 31-year-old is scheduled to make his BMO Field debut on Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes. Criscito, 35, who finished his third stint with Genoa to sign in Toronto at the end of June, ought to be available for that game as well.
