Kante went down injured in the 85th minute during the heated London derby after overstretching for a tackle. He immediately grabbed his hamstring and went down in pain, the Chelsea medical team had to help him off the pitch.
Chelsea faces Leeds United away in their next game of the season which may give room to some young players to fight for a place in Tuchel’s starting eleven with Mateo Kovacic also out injured.
1. Conor Gallagher
He has been given the opportunity to break into Tuchel’s starting eleven, after a successful loan spell with Crystal Palace. With Kante and Kovacic injured, he is the favorite to take their place.
2. Carney Chukwuemeka
He a talented 18 year old midfielder, he came into the club from Aston Villa this summer and is yet to make his debut for Chelsea this season, and the game against Leeds could be the perfect time for the young English midfielder.
3. Billy Gilmour
He showed his amazing talent at Chelsea’s youth level, and after returning from his loan spell at Norwich City, he was relegated to the under 23s by Thomas Tuchel during the club’s American pre-season tour. We are likely to see him been called up to the first team.
