The former President and Ijaw leader who shared lovely photos during the union stated that it was a delight to reconnect with his former School mates after 40 years of graduation.

The former President bagged his Bachelor of Arts degree from the prestigious University in 1981.

To mark the 40th anniversary of their graduation, the old Students visited some notable sites in Bayelsa, Goodluck Jonathan’s home state where he once served as Governor.

Three important places visited by the Former President with his former schoolmates from UNIPORT.

1. The former President and his old schoolmates visited the first oil well in Oloibiri in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. Oloibiri is the first town in the whole country where crude oil was discovered.

2. They also paid a visit to their former lecturer, Professor E. J Alagoa who was the pioneer Dean of Humanities at the University of Port Harcourt. This was done to appreciate the former University don for imparting knowledge to them and for the fatherly role he played when he was a lecturer in the citadel of learning.

3. The 1981 Set of the University of Port Harcourt also visited the Palace of King AJ Turner at Opume in Ogbia kingdom where they had lunch and cultural fiesta.
