Bruno Fernandes played a key role in Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Real Betis on Thursday Europa League.
The 28-year old player provided an assist and scored the third goal for Manchester United, as well as playing the initial pass that fell to Marcus Rashford for opening goal.
Thus, Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag said in a post match press conference that the Portugal international is the best player of the match, adding that the United captain played a little bit of a deeper role, and was the leader in making the game from the back, in position.
“I think he (Fernandes) was the best player on the pitch, and that shows his personality.
“He played a little bit of a deeper role tonight, and I think he did brilliant. And he was the leader in making the game from the back, in position, in making the rhythm of the game.
“A lot of good passes in between the lines. And from there we created a lot of chances,” he said.
Recall that Fernandes had been criticized for his performance against Liverpool on Sunday night. However, the Portuguese has silenced some of his critics with his recent performance.
Congratulations to Fernandes for his recent performance.
