While being aggressively cross-examined by Trump lawyer Susan Necheles, Daniels made a few embarrassing assertions about the former president in the bedroom.
When asked about her true intentions with giving her testimony, Daniels maintained that even though the intercourse in her adult films are fake, sex with Trump felt just about the same.
Daniels, amid her testimony in former president Donald Trump’s hush-money criminal trial, coldly stated “nobody would ever want to admit they slept with Trump.”
The former president has maintained the two never had sex. Daniels likened her alleged sexual encounter with Trump to one of her adult movies.
Susan Necheles, one of Trump’s lawyers, wrestled that statement out of Daniels while insinuating that she made her story publicly just to get her 15 minutes of fame.
The Trump lawyer cited how, by 2018, despite asserting that she wouldn’t discuss the alleged scandal, she suddenly felt the urge to “publicly” admit to sleeping with the former president.
In a rather frank and curt manner, the porn actress replied “Nobody would ever want to” say that publicly.
Daniels returned to the witness stand Thursday morning to continue her testimony against the former president, who faces 34 counts of falsifying business records in order to conceal an alleged affair he had with Daniels amid his 2016 presidential campaign. Her cold words came two days after she spent hours detailing the 2006 affair withy Trump to a jury.
Trump’s legal defense fervently attacked the porn actress’s credibility during their cross-examination, claiming Daniels is merely out for money given her clearly “rehearsed” testimony. Daniels has fiercely denied these accusations.
The defense also made a failed attempt at a mistrial, claiming the porn star’s disposition had “nothing to do with this case and is extremely prejudicial.”
This marks the first instance of a criminal trial against a former US president.
The former president has maintained that the two never has sexual intercourse. Necheles expectedly cited Daniel’s career as an adult star in order to sully her credibility.
“You have a lot of experience of making phony stories about sex appear to be real,” the Trump lawyer told Daniels on the stand.
She quickly shot back saying, “Wow. That’s not how I would put it. The sex in the films is very much real, just like what happened to me in that room.”
Prosecutors argue Trump and his allies concealed his alleged affair with Daniels to save his political image amid his 2016 bid for the White House, afraid the scandal would tarnish his campaign.
