Although the Blues was in the crowd watching his team perform, his directions were still in place as the game kicked off.
Chelsea was shown an early red card just a few minutes into the first half. Despite the red card, Thomas Tuchel and his boys opened the scoring through Raheem Sterling. The English man got several chances to score more goals but was able to convert them.
However, the Blues are currently making preparations on how to face Southampton at the Saint Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday night.
The game will be a chance for Thomas Tuchel and his men to build on their winning spirit. Although N’golo Kante and Koulibaly will be unavailable, Kovacic is back to the team after an injury layoff.
Ahead of the Southampton game, Kovacic could appear in the starting lineup after playing a few minutes in the second Leicester City game.
