It has been reported that President Muhammadu Buhari who only last weekend returned to the country from Istanbul, Turkey, where he attended the third Turkey-African Partnership Summit, has reportedly declined the assent to the Electoral act (Amendment) Bill, as the 30-day window for him to assent the bill elapsed last night, December 19, 2021.
The refusal of President Buhari to sign the Electoral reform Bill has generated mixed reactions amongst Nigerians. Based on that, Senator Shehu Sani, has shared his opinion regarding this topic through a post he shared on his verified Twitter page. According to him, Nigerians must used this opportunity to unite in order to save and protect their freedom and Democracy.
“Nigerians must champion this as a cause to save and protect our freedom and Democracy.” He wrote.
