The statement reads:

The attention of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State has been called to a misleading headline from one of the print media in Nigeria on the coming general elections which reads, *”2023: Kwara PDP wants Saraki to nominate candidate”.*

According to the State Publicity Secretary of the Party in Kwara State, Mr Tunde Ashaolu, the headline is not only misleading but false. Going through the content of the report, it shows clearly that the headline is totally wrong and at variance with the words of the State Party Chairman, Rt. Hon. Tunde Muhammed, during the visitation of the North Central Contact and Advocacy Group to Kwara State.

Rather than Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki nominating any candidate for any position, it will go through the party processes as always. Saraki has never been dictatorial but a Leader who believes in the democratic and political party internal processes and procedures.

We, therefore, implore media mediums and vehicles, to kindly cross check their bylines and not write lines that will miss inform the general public.
